Abstract: More than two million Americans currently have some form of dementia, and that number is certain to grow with the aging of the U.S. population. New drug therapies and recent advances in research hold out promise. Appropriate advance care planning, caregiver education and support, and clinical strategies can significantly promote quality of life.
